Several years ago I visited New Mexico. During that visit I became fascinated with how the cross was depicted in a vast array of styles and mediums. The 500 year old Spanish tradition in cross iconography ignited my interest in and passion for this shape as a sculptural design element. It has led me to create distinct cross designs in mediums as diverse as forged iron, copper, and brass. The use of native materials like turquoise and silver inlay creates a timeless beauty that links to the rich cultural heritage of the Southwest.
Each cross is an individual creation; signed, dated and numbered. Many of my crosses have been created as wedding and first communion gifts in addition to stand alone art objects. Pieces have been commissioned in the United States and Europe. Commissioned pieces can be crafted on any scale to fit specific site installations or complement unique landscapes.
